How We Test

Every Nivef guide follows the same process, whether we're picking earbuds or a chef's knife. Our goal is a recommendation you can trust without doing hours of research yourself.

Our process

1. Define who it's for. We start by deciding what most people need from a product, and which needs call for something different.
2. Research the field. We review specifications, prices, expert coverage, and thousands of owner reviews to build a shortlist of serious contenders.
3. Use the products. Wherever possible we use shortlisted products the way you would: in real kitchens, on real commutes, and in real workouts.
4. Compare side by side. We weigh performance, comfort, ease of use, durability, and value, and we note the flaws that matter.
5. Keep it current. We revisit guides regularly, and update them when better products arrive or our picks change.

What we never do

• Accept payment for a recommendation or a better ranking.
• Let brands review or approve our guides before they're published.
• Recommend a product we wouldn't suggest to a friend.

• Upgrade pick: worth the extra money if you want the best.
• Also great: a strong alternative for specific needs.
